Term: Photolithography


Definition:

Photolithography is photographic process that is used in the manafacture of computer chips and other micro-electro-mechnical systems. Photolithography uses beams of light, projected through a reticle onto a silicon wafer, covered with a photosensitive material, thereby etching a circuit into the semiconductor wafer.
