Jean-Michel Lamure and André-Jacques Auberton-Hervé founded Soitec in 1992 to develop and commercialize the revolutionary Smart Cut™ ‘atomic scalpel’ technology. SOI-based processors

Electronic components made from Soitec SOI wafers offer 50% better performance than their silicon-only (bulk) equivalents. SOI-based processors offer market-leading levels of performance for applications ranging from PCs to game consoles.

Widespread use of SOI-based LED lamps would generate further energy savings of 60% to 70% for lighting.
